When Solutions Four’s Creative Director Dan Crook approached international film critic and maverick documentary maker John Campea with some artwork ideas for the promotion of his new film, Prince of Peace – God of War, he little thought that a few weeks later his designs would be in production for the launch of the dvd release of the new film.
“I’m a massive fan of John Campea and his work. He’s a really unorthodox and interesting guy who has given a lot of film fans a voice through his website themovieblog.com. He started the website back in 2003 as a hobby and it has just mushroomed since then.
With the new film, I had seen the proposed artwork on his site and I thought that it didn’t do it justice. I thought ‘I can do better than that’ and if it helps get the documentary some more notice then why not. So I put together some ideas and sent them over hardly expecting to hear anything back. But I did! They loved them. It was great. The designs are now being used for the dvd release of the film in early November.”
The film, which premiered at the San Diego International Film Festival on Saturday 29th September, and in the same weekend, on the opposite coast, at the Florida Global Peace FIlm Festival, it has already attracted a great deal of attention and some excellent early reviews.
